(cont.)The girl said, "If you cut your hair shorter even than it is, and take off all your clothes and throw them into the stream, I will take you on board." As soon as Close-cut-Hair had done this, she began to whistle, and a cold wind blew, which eventually froze Close-cut-Hair to death. Then the sisters told the girl to go home to her people and tell them all about her adventure, and also to relate the fate of the other three girls. This she did, and the people bewailed the tragic deaths of their daughters, whom they had supposed happily married.
