What is the Multi-Party Training Plan?The Multi-Party Training Plan (MPTP) has been a cooperative, training-to-employment initiative among the province of Saskatchewan, Federal government, First Nations and Metis authorities, and the northern mining industry since 1993. The Five-year plan was developed and implemented by the Mineral Sector Steering Committee, which is a sub-committee of the Northern Labour Market Committee. This report is an evaluation of the first four years of the MPTP. |
What information is provided on this site?This site provides you with the latest information on the Multi-Party Training Plan(MPTP) agreement and is updated regularly. This site consists of the "Summerative Evaluation of the MPTP from 1993-1998". This report was based on the first five year agreement. Which will provide you with a wide base of information and statistics on industry, job growth and employment in northern Saskatchewan. Also you will learn our goals, guidelines and acheivments. |
Mission StatementThe following Vision statement was presented by the Premier and accepted by all participants in the initial Dialogue with Northern Leaders convened May 12, 1997 in Saskatoon: The people of northern Saskatchewan will possess the means to address the goals and aspirations they have for their communities, their families and themselves. With respect for northern people, their cultures and traditions, government will work as an active partner with communities, Aboriginal authorities, business and industry to promote the social and economic development of the North. |
