The high bandwidth version of this web site is optimized for
Netscape 4.0, and contains components
with JavaScript and/or requiring browser plug-ins. It includes animated
maps of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. Users of the
highband version who have slower modems or computers with limited processor
or memory capabilities will have to exercise patience, as these features
may take some time to respond.
The low bandwidth version of this web site also contains components
with JavaScript and/or requiring browser plug-ins. It has been tested
on versions of Netscape as simple
as version 2.0. It uses text legends in place of animations on the
maps, and is faster to load.
Excerpts of taped interviews with Alberta's Ukrainian pioneers,
and music of the 1920s are provided in two formats on both highband
and lowband versions to accommodate slower and faster modems, as well as
older and newer players of ".ra" audio files. The Schoolnet browser
does not allow for streamed sound, and each file will have to be downloaded.
