The smallest of the constellations is Crux, the Southern Cross, located near the southern celestial pole. It consists of four stars in close proximity covering 68 square degrees and is only visible from sites farther south than 27 degrees north latitude.

The smallest constellation observable from Canada is Equuleus, the Little Horse. Equuleus is located near Pegasus, the Winged Horse.
