5. What is a Main Sequence Star?
"Main sequence" is a term used to refer to a star which is in an extremely stable state, that is when there is a balance between the gravitational attraction of the gas and the countering gas pressure. A star remains in the main sequence for the majority of its lifetime until its nuclear reactions seize.
