Reynold Kenneth Young (1886-1977) Born at Binbrook Ontario, Young was an astronomer at the Dominion Observatory in Ottawa from 1913-1918, and at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory in Victoria, B.C. Young's research centred on the field of stellar radial velocities. His work helped place Canada among the world leaders in radial velocity research. Young guided the design and construction of the 74-inch telescope at the David Dunlap observatory of which there are copies mounted in Egypt, South Africa, Japan, and Australia. |
