DataDisk Inc. is a wholly-owned Newfoundland information technology firm specializing in
the conversion of documents, images, data and microfilm/fiche to electronic formats with
output onto various media including CD-ROM and Photo CD. The firm was incorporated
in November, 1993 with the support of Human Resources Development and the Trepassey
Community Development Fund to provide meaningful employment alternatives and
opportunities for individuals dislocated from the Northern Cod Fishery.
The firm provides specialized services in 5 key areas:
1) System Consultancy Services: DataDisk Inc. provides clients with a comprehensive
consultancy service utilizing specialized resources to assist clients to optimize
imaging conversion projects. Key services include comprehensive systems analysis,
process re-engineering and imaging systems configuring and integration.
2) Digital Documentation Conversion Services: DataDisk Inc. provides clients with comprehensive services to manage and implement document conversion programs. Full conversion services are provided either on-site at the client's premises or at our production facility in the Fort William Building. St. John's. CD-ROM tools and technologies with customized search and retrieval softwares are included.
Digital Photographic Conversion Services: DataDisk Inc. provides clients with full
service digital image processing capabilities through its Master Photo CD
Workstation configuration located in our office in St. John's, NF. Full production
facilities and procedures are provided including quality assurance/quality control
standard operating procedures, image scanning and manipulation, image indexing
and image production to Photo CD.
3) Microfilming and Microfiching Services: DataDisk is an official Service
Bureau/Conversion Centre for Kodak Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador,
offering complete microfilming services. Included in this offering is conversion of
microfilm/fiche to digital formats with customized search and retrieval software
with output to CD-ROM.
4) Data Entry Services: DataDisk Inc. provides clients with skilled and experienced
human resources to implement data conversion projects either on-site or at our
production facility.
5) Training and Support: DataDisk Inc. represents several leading software and hardware vendors in the Atlantic region including: Fujitsu, Kodak, BYTE, Cardiff, Quick Image and others. Through this relationship we offer complete training and support for all our service offerings.
