Contemporary
Figurative Painter Rosemary Lucy Cosentino, first generation of
Italian decent, was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, on January
21st, 1976. She was exposed to art at an early age with the influences
of her uncle Salvatore Marino, and aunt- well known Italian painter
Angela Leonardi.
She received a DEC in Fine Arts at Dawson College established for
it's Art programs in 1995, and a Bachelor in Fine Arts with distinction
at Concordia University in 1998. After numerous exhibitions, she
has gone on to be a two time winner of the prestigious Elizabeth
Greenshields Foundation Grant. She was the youngest to have received
it the first time at the age of 21 in 1997.
Since then, Rosemary Cosentino has been confined in her studio building
a body of work, which consists of very large to miniature works.
Her strong attachment to the Old Master Techniques with influences
from Rembrandt, Gentileschi, Ingres,and Bouguereau to name a few-
has lead her to explore and come up with her own distinct color
palette and style.
Currently, Rosemary Cosentino is an Active member of the RAAV (Regroupement
des Artists en Arts Visuels), and an Active member of the Federation
of Canadian Artists.
