Artist's
Statement:
With these figure-scapes, I consider the passage of the life cycle,
resulting in a deeper understanding of myself. My work is autobiographical,
a visual language engaging in a search for self, drawing from cultural
traditions and treading the issues imagined to be forbidden It is
a journey that explores gender roles and inscribed customs that
have held me, and the women of world, hostage. It is a journey that
also, however, moves towards reconciliation and celebrations.
