Awarded
the University of Ottawa Gold Medal of Excellence in 1973, Suzanne
Joubert went on to obtain an Master in Visual Arts from Université
de Québec à Montréal on an FCAR scholarship.
Her master's degree solo exhibition was featured on the cover page
of Vie des arts magazine in 1988. Since then, her creative
career has quickly progressed. Joubert has received numerous grants
from the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Arts Council and the Quebec
Council of Arts and Literature as well as several public contracts
since 1977.
She
has participated in group shows in Paris, Toronto, Montréal,
Québec, Hull, Ottawa, Sherbrooke, Los Angeles, Stratford
(Ontario), and Tokyo, and produced nine solo exhibitions between
1988 and 1998. Three more solo shows are scheduled for the year
2000: two parallel shows in Hull at Galerie Montcalm and in Ottawa
at Galerie Jean-Claude Bergeron, from September to the end of October,
as well as at the Galerie D'Avignon in Montreal, immediately following
in the month of November.

works are part of many private and public collections including
the Canada Council Art Bank, the Quebec Museum, Jarislowsky-Fraser,
Via Rail, Loto-Québec, Claridge Inc., the City of Ottawa,
the City of Hull, Ottawa-Carleton Regional Municipality, the Regional
Art Gallery of London (Ontario), the Rare Book Division of the National
Library of Canada, Rolland Groupe Cascade, Abitibi Consolidated,
Royal Bank of Canada, among many others.
