Quebec, the kitchen was the centre of family life. Louis-Émile
made the kitchen a focal point of his collection. The woman
at her stove, inspired by his grandmother, was sculpted in 1977
and is one of the artist's first woodcarvings. She was incorporated
into the scene after its creation in 1980.
