The National Council of Welfare ran an on-line questionnaire in late 2006 to find out what Canadians think about solutions to poverty and income security in Canada. The questionnaire asked nine core questions. The first five related to strategy, specifically to the role of governments in fighting poverty, and the other four sought direction on programs and policy. The respondents had the option to choose from one of two formats: the "individual" version and the "organization" version.
