MINISTER STÉPHANE DION IS STILL WAITING
FOR A RESPONSE TO THE OBJECTIONS HE RAISED
REGARDING THE PROCESS THE GOVERNMENT
OF QUEBEC INTENDS TO FOLLOW
TO ACHIEVE INDEPENDENCE

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, August 26, 1997 – On August 12, Mr. Bernard Landry, Deputy Premier of Quebec, officially responded to the letter that Minister Dion had written to Premier Bouchard. However, Minister Dion believes that Mr. Landry’s letter does not respond to his objections. It is in that context that the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Stéphane Dion, is writing to Minister Landry.

Minister Dion’s letter is attached.
