Prime Minister Accepts Resignation of Chief Justice Charles L. Dubin

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced that he has
accepted the resignation of the Honourable Charles L. Dubin, Chief
Justice of Ontario, effective February 15, 1996.
"I salute Justice Dubin for his long and distinguished record
of public service," said the Prime Minister. "I wish
him all the best in the future."
Charles L. Dubin was appointed Justice of the Court of Appeal
in 1973, Associate Chief Justice of Ontario in 1987, and Chief
Justice Of Ontario in 1990. He has also served on a number of
public inquiries; he was appointed in 1983 to head the Hospital
for Sick Children review committee, and in 1988 as Royal Commissioner
to inquire into the use of drugs and banned practises intended
to increase athletic performance.
Justice Dubin will return to private practice.
