Joseph P. Landry

Joseph P. Landry was born in Cap-Pelé, New Brunswick, in 1922.

Early in his life, Mr. Landry worked as a stevedore on the Halifax docks, and later as a carpenter and electrician in Labrador.

In 1947, he and a group of partners rebuilt a fish plant which had burned down in Cap-Pelé. Later, he established several fish plants of his own, in Cap-Pelé, as well as in other areas of Atlantic Canada.

Today he has several major seafood processing companies that export around the world. In recognition of his efforts, he received an Export Award from the Province of New Brunswick in 1989.

Mr. Landry and his wife live in Cap-Pelé.
