Prime Minister Jean Chrétien announced today the appointment of three
Parliamentary Secretaries to replace the Honourable John McCallum, the
Honourable Claude Drouin and the Honourable Stephen Owen, respectively, who were
appointed Secretaries of State on January 15, 2002.
The new Parliamentary Secretaries are:
Mr. Bryon Wilfert (Oak Ridges)
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance
Mr. Serge Marcil (Beauharnois -- Salaberry)
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry
Mr. Paul Macklin (Northumberland)
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of
Canada
The Prime Minister also congratulated the newly elected Parliamentary
Standing Committee Chairs Sue Barnes (Finance), Jean Augustine (Foreign Affairs)
and Walt Lastewka (Industry).
