Prime Minister meets North American counterparts in Texas

NEWS RELEASE

Prime Minister Paul Martin today announced that he will join Mexican President Vicente Fox at meetings hosted by United States President George W. Bush on Wednesday, March 23, in Texas.

Meeting at Baylor University in Waco, the three leaders and members of their respective cabinets will explore areas for trilateral cooperation under the New Partnership in North America. Launched by Canada and the United Stated on the occasion of President Bush's visit to Ottawa on November 30, 2004, the New Partnership lays out an agenda designed to increase security, prosperity, and quality of life for our citizens.

Following these working sessions, President Bush will host Prime Minister Martin and President Fox at a lunch at the President's ranch in Crawford.

Accompanying the Prime Minister in Texas will be Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Anne McLellan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pierre Pettigrew, and Industry Minister David Emerson.
