National Public Service Week - 2001

Please join me in celebrating National Public Service Week, June 10th
to 16th , 2001.
The Public Service plays a fundamental role in supporting the values and
quality of life enjoyed by Canadians. I believe that every public servant has an
important contribution to make in the advice we provide to the Government and in
the services we deliver to our fellow citizens.
Each day, public servants in all parts of the country help make Canada a
better place, yet often our work goes unnoticed. We should always recognize our
innumerable accomplishments, but National Public Service Week provides a special
opportunity for us to do so.
I am very proud of our Public Service. It is one in which we all strive for
excellence. I truly hope you take the time to celebrate our achievements during
