Subject:
Celebrating Public Servants Who Make A Difference
I am writing today to launch the nomination process for The
2001 Head of the Public Service Award. Each and every day, public servants
contribute to the quality of life Canadians enjoy and make Canada a better place
to live.
I am asking you to take a few moments to reflect on those individuals or
teams that have demonstrated excellence and to nominate them for this year's
award. In doing so, consider the achievements of your colleagues, supervisors
and/or employees.
Public servants at all levels, across Canada and abroad, are eligible. Up to
20 awards may be presented.
The award is given in four categories which represent areas of great
importance to me as Head of the Public Service. They are: Excellence in Service
Delivery, Excellence in Policy, Valuing and Supporting People, and Values and
Ethics.
You may find the nomination form and a more detailed explanation of the
categories on line at http://publiservice.tbs-sct.gc.ca/hr_connexions_rh. Please
submit your nominations by June 22, 2001.
I am convinced that there are many stories to tell about the extraordinary
accomplishments of public servants. Together, we can celebrate those who make
the Public Service of Canada the best it can be.
Thank you
