Deputy Minister Appointment

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced the appointment of Frank Claydon, currently Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and AgriFood Canada.

Mr. Claydon succeeds Raymond Protti who recently left the Public Service.

This appointment is effective immediately.
