Prime Minister Jean Chrétien condemned the terrorist bombing
that occurred early this morning at the Centennial Park in Atlanta.
In letters to President Bill Clinton and to the President of the

Minister stated that Canadians were shocked and dismayed at the
news that a bomb had exploded early this morning at the Centennial
Park in Atlanta.
On behalf of all Canadians, the Prime Minister offered his condolences
to the families of the victims and his sympathy and best wishes
for a speedy recovery to the many who were wounded.

on the spirit of the Olympic Games and underlined his conviction
