Prime Minister pays tribute to the late John Robinette

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today issued the following
tribute to the late John Josiah Robinette:
With the passing of John Robinette, Canada has lost one of
its greatest lawyers. He was a lawyer's lawyer, whose consummate
skill and exemplary conduct elevated him to the rank of legend.
As Minister of Justice, it was a privilege for me to work with
him when he acted for the government of Canada in the Supreme
Court on the patriation of the Canadian Constitution.
My wife and I extend our condolences to his family and friends.
