Senior appointments announced

Ottawa, Ontario

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced the following changes in the Public Service:

1. Robert A. Wright, currently High Commissioner for Canada to New Zealand, becomes Deputy Minister of National Revenue. Mr. Wright succeeds Pierre Gravelle.

2. William J. Crandall, currently Assistant Deputy Minister, Finance and Administration, National Revenue, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of National Revenue.

3. Margaret Bloodworth, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Transport, becomes Deputy Minister of Transport. Mrs. Bloodworth succeeds Nick Mulder.

On behalf of all Canadians, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to thank Messrs. Gravelle and Mulder, who are leaving the Public Service after distinguished careers, for their dedication and outstanding service over the years.

These appointments are effective January 20, 1997.
