Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced the appointment
of Garry Wouters as Associate Deputy Minister of Indian Affairs
and Northern Development. Mr. Wouters is currently Deputy Minister
of Finance and Corporate Relations, Government of British Columbia.
He previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Education,
Skills and Training and, in 1992, he was Deputy Minister of Aboriginal
Affairs.
This appointment is effective February 3, 1997.
