Prime Minister Paul Martin today announced that he has invited Premiers and Territorial Leaders to a First Ministers’ Meeting in Ottawa, at the Government Conference Centre, beginning September 13, 2004.

The Prime Minister is writing to his colleagues to confirm details of the meeting.

The major agenda item will be how to strengthen for the long term Canada’s publicly- funded, single-payer health care system.
