Prime Minister’s Holiday Message
It is an honour to offer greetings as your Prime Minister this holiday season.
As 2003 draws to an end, I want to pay tribute to Canadians from all regions of our great country. During my visits this past year to communities across Canada, I have seen firsthand the desire and dedication of individuals who call this country home. It is a wonderful privilege for me to represent such a diverse, dynamic and generous nation as is ours.
We have set an ambitious course for Canada. A course that is dedicated to achievement: to strengthening the social foundations of Canadian life; to building a strong 21st century economy; and to ensuring that Canada retains its proud reputation in the world.
Just as Canadians worked together throughout 2003 through challenges such as SARS, forest fires, hurricanes, the blackout and Mad Cow, I know we will work together to achieve great things in 2004.
As Canadians, we have much to be proud of and together we can accomplish much, much more. It is our responsibility to ensure that Canada continues to be a land of opportunity for all. We are a people who rise to the occasion and we will continue to do so. The holiday season is a time to gather together with family and friends and rejoice in all that is good about being Canadian. It is also a time to reflect on how privileged we are in a world where so many can only dream of our prosperity.
Sheila and I wish you a safe and joyous holiday season. May the New Year bring you peace, health and happiness.
