Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced the following changes in the Public Service:

1. Michel Dorais, currently President of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, becomes Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Intergovernmental Operations), Privy Council Office.

2. Sid Gershberg, currently Assistant Deputy Minister, Programs and Divesture, Department of Transport, becomes President of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.

These changes are effective immediately.
