Term of CBC President Extended

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced that Perrin Beatty, President of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, has agreed to a six-month extension of his term, which was to have ended March 31, 1999.
The extension will carry his term to September 30, 1999.
