I work for the Coast Guard and it's a great outfit. I'm involved with a lot of really positive programs: search and rescue, scientific research, marine navigational services, environmental response. We do a lot of really positive things.

The crew is really diverse and flexible. The crew can go from doing an operation and quickly wrap that up and spring into another role or responsibility.

Everybody who works here does the job because they love it - it is something a lot of people do because it is a lifestyle. It's always changing and there are always opportunities as long as you work hard and apply yourself.

If you enjoy the outdoors - if you enjoy hard work - and you like a challenge, it's a great job.
