Prime Minister Names Senate Deputy Leader October 12, 1999 Ottawa, Ontario Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today anounced that he has appointed Senator Dan Hays of Alberta to the position of Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate. The appointment is effective immediately.
