Farm households by income by, provinces (2001 Census of Agriculture)

Definitions

Household refers to a person or group of persons who occupy the same dwelling. A farm household must have at least one farm operator.

Household total income is the sum of the incomes of all members of that household.

Net farm income, as reported on the Census of Population, includes gross farm receipts minus operating expenses and depreciation.

Notes

The figures for the net farm income variable in this table include incorporated farms. Individuals in the household of an incorporated farm may have reported wages and salaries or dividend earnings from the farm corporation as ‘other employment income’ or ‘other sources of income’ instead of net farm income.

To ensure confidentiality, figures have been rounded to end in 0 or 5. They may not add to totals. Minor differences can be expected in figures appearing in other tables.

The figures for the variables in this table are derived from Agriculture-Population Linkage 20% sample data, which have been weighted up to represent the entire population.
