Definitions

A farm operator is a person responsible for the management decisions in the operation of a farm or an agricultural operation. This person's primary occupation could be either agricultural or non-agricultural. Farm workers are included.

Agricultural primary occupation includes farmer, farm manager, greenhouse operator, maple syrup producer, etc.

Non-agricultural primary occupation is everything outside of agricultural occupations such as teacher, truck driver, firefighter, auto mechanic, etc.

Notes

Each respondent can report only one job, and in cases where the respondent holds more than one job, is instructed to report the job at which he/she worked the most hours.

To ensure confidentiality, figures have been rounded to end in 0 or 5. They may not add to totals. Minor differences can be expected in figures appearing in other tables.

The figures for the variables in this table are derived from Agriculture-Population Linkage 20% sample data, which have been weighted up to represent the entire population.
