Definitions

Private dwelling: Refers to a separate set of living quarters with a private entrance either from outside or from a hallway or other common area inside the building. An occupied private dwelling is occupied by usual residents as opposed to foreign or temporary residents.

Condition of dwelling:

Regular maintenance refers to painting, furnace cleaning, etc.

Minor repairs refers to missing or loose floor tiles, bricks or shingles; defective steps, railing or siding, etc.

Major repairs refers to defective plumbing or electrical wiring, structural repairs to walls, floors or ceilings, etc.
