Private dwelling: Refers
to a separate set of living quarters with a private entrance either
from outside or from a hallway or other common area inside the building.
An occupied private dwelling is occupied by usual residents as
opposed to foreign or temporary residents.
Condition of dwelling:
Regular maintenance refers to painting, furnace cleaning,
etc.
Minor repairs refers to missing or loose floor tiles, bricks
or shingles; defective steps, railing or siding, etc.
Major repairs refers to defective plumbing or electrical wiring,
structural repairs to walls, floors or ceilings, etc.
Census metropolitan area (CMA): a very large urban area (known
as the urban core) together with adjacent urban and rural areas that
have a high degree of social and economic integration with the urban
core. A CMA has an urban core population of at least 100,000, based
on the previous census.
