Household:
Refers to a person or a group of persons who occupy the same dwelling. The household may
consist of a family group (census family) with or without other non-family persons; of two
or more families sharing a dwelling; of a group of unrelated persons; or of one person
living alone.Household income: The sum of the total incomes of all members of
the household aged 15 years and over. Total income is composed of:
Earnings: wages and salaries, net farm income; net
non-farm income from unincorporated business and/or professional
practice
Government transfer payments: federal Child Tax
Benefit, Old Age Security pension and Guaranteed Income Supplements,
Canada or Quebec Pension Plan, benefits from Unemployment Insurance,
other income from government sources
Investment Income: dividends; interest on bonds,
deposits and savings certificates; other investment income
Other income: Retirement pensions, superannuation
and annuities, other money income
Owners major payments: Includes electricity, fuel, water and other
municipal services, mortgage payments, property taxes, and condominium fees.
Tenants gross rent: Includes electricity, fuel, water and other municipal
services, and monthly cash rent.
