Critical Incident Categories
An assault is any form of assault defined in the Criminal Code. This includes physical assaults committed by clients or employees, as well as sexual assaults.
A threat – bodily harm is a threat directed towards an employee by either a client or another employee. This is usually an incident where a person threatens to hurt or injure an employee.
A bomb threat is a threat made by an individual (by letter, by telephone, by leaving a package, etc.) that a bomb is currently at a facility or will be. This kind of threat includes those made directly towards the CBSA or another tenant within the same facility.
A suspicious package incident is a receipt or report of a suspicious package found unattended within a facility or received by an employee (e.g. at a postal unit) and for which no ownership is taken or the content cannot be determined.
