Figure 1 utilizes the data from Table 3 - Summary of Hours of Enforcement. As shown in Figure 1, there was an overall increase in enforcement hours of 82% from 2000 to 2001 and 35% from 2001 to 2002. From 2003 to 2005, the number of enforcement hours decreased by 9% from 2002 to 2003, by 11% from 2003 to 2004, and by 15% from 2004 to 2005.

From 2000 to 2002, Newfoundland Region maintained an average of 288 enforcement hours per year. From 2000 to 2002, Pacific, Gulf and Québec Regions increased their hours, and then, from 2002 to 2003, decreased them. From 2003 to 2004, Pacific and Québec Regions decreased again their hours respectfully by 9% and 41%.

From 2003 to 2004, the Gulf Region increased its hours by 57%. From 2004 to 2005, Pacific and Gulf Regions decreased their hours respectfully by 12% and 26%, while Quebec Region increased its hours by 16%. From 2000 to 2003, Maritimes Region increased its hours by 152% and decreased them by 38% from 2003 to 2005.
