• August 7 to 23, CFIA initiates and carries out Food Safety Investigation to determine source of outbreak

August 16 to October 17

• Series of risk assessments
• First risk assessment conducted by CFIA
• Remaining risk assessments conducted by HC

August 17 to 29

• First of series of 24 recalls. 192 Maple Leaf Food products recalled (in addition to secondary recalled products)

August 20 to September 15

• Approximately 29,000 recall effectives checks completed
