Chapter 10 Annex P-5

Sorting of Wet, Stained or Damaged Casees

The title of the flow chart is "Diagram of Visual Inspection Procedure". At the top of the flow chart itself is "wet, stained, damaged cases", which leads to "investigation", then "problem due to". If it is "physical damage or other", this leads to "no sort" or "sort". If it is a question of "no sort", then the "inspection lot is not permitted for sale or distribution".

If it is a question of "sort", then there are two possibilities: "good order cases" and "affected cases (keep detained)". If these are "good order cases" then there is an "inspection".

If these are "affected cases (keep detained)", then there is a "culling of affected cases", in which case "good order containers" are to "return to inspection lot". In the case of "affected cases", those with "physical damage or other" will be "detained". The other choice for "affected cases" is "other serious defect - include in sample".

Note: "other" means water damage, leakage from other inspection lot or any wetting, staining or damage caused by the environment surrounding the inspection lot.
