Map three illustrates the areas of the world that have similar climates to the Boreal Plains Canadian ecozone which is across central Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba east to Lake Winnipeg. Areas of similar climate include western Russia, northern China, the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Europe, southern tip of Brazil, northwest United States, Alaska, central Canada, an area in north-western Ontario surrounding the Great Lakes, and the Yukon.
