Village of Belledune
The village Web site covers all aspects of life in Belledune. Dieppe


Town of Dieppe
The "Virtual City Hall" portion of this town's Web site has photos of Councillors, contact information, a ward map, organizational chart, telephone directory, and brief information on municipal services. "Public Notices" includes invitations to tender, notices of road work and service interruptions, and the agenda for upcoming council meetings with a list of the members of Commissions and Committees of Dieppe and the Greater Moncton area of which it is a part. Municipal regulations are not yet available. A brief community profile is also available with information on recreational and cultural facilities. An online e-mail form is provided for direct contact with the Town.

Edmunsdton


Ville d'Edmundston
This new site is in French only at the moment. It has photographs and contact information for City Councillors, a map of the municipal wards, the agenda of the last council meeting and minutes from meetings from Sept. 2001 on. The municipal calendar was available only for the past month. The Strategic Plan, budget documents, and By-law #1 on the municipality's organization and procedures are in PDF format. There are online forms for questions, press releases, information on the Madawaska Region, and links to a directory of services such as the library, airport, firefighting and police, etc. with contact information, contacts for obtaining permits, the garbage collection schedule, information on water testing, treatment and conservation, and the electricity and water rates. This is a large, irregularly updated site made confusing by a split screen format too large for some monitors, the use of a variety of font styles and sizes, and unclear organization with many links repeated.

The stated purpose of this Web site is to increase the flow of information to residents and this site does a good job of it. Posted are town council meeting minutes from 1999 on, and an index of town bylaws with selected bylaws available online in .pdf format, the garbage collection schedule, and to come: the water and sewage rates. There is an online form for payment of utility bills. Complete contact information is provided for the Mayor and councillors as well as a telephone directory. There is a brief introduction to the new town plan in the works and an online email form for submitting comments. Other information includes the annual budget, community notices, the town's emergency preparedness plan, operations and administrative policies, current capital works projects, and information on the recreational programs and services.
