Chart of Lake Winnipeg, 1903

This is the first chart to be surveyed, printed and published in Canada. The Canadian Hydrographic Service (the name chosen in 1928) is responsible for conducting surveys of the Great Lakes, Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba, the St. Lawrence River, the Ottawa River and the three ocean fronts of Canada, which has more coastline than any other country in the world.
