Nellie L. McClung, her son Mark, and dog Philip in the front yard of her house, Edmonton, Alberta, ca. 1910, by the Castor Studio

Popular author, powerful orator, charismatic politician and tireless worker in the campaign to achieve the vote for women, Nellie McClung (1873-1951) also worked for many other causes. These included social justice for women, children and immigrants.

She is shown here in an informal pose with her son Mark and dog Philip in the front yard of her Edmonton home.
