Rosemary Brown, by Barbara Woodley

Rosemary Brown (born 1930) became the first black woman member of any Canadian parliamentary body when she was elected to the British Columbia provincial legislature in 1972.

She has had a distinguished career as social worker, academic, politician and feminist. Ms. Brown has focused on achieving justice and equality for women and minorities with the unwavering single mindedness captured here, and which she advocates for the successful woman of today.
