Henry Hudson's Daring Exploits
Third Voyage
1609
Hudson tried again in 1609, using the Dutch ship Half Moon. When he reached the north of Norway his crew almost mutinied, so he went to America instead. He explored the area around New York and claimed it for Holland (because he was in a Dutch ship). He did not find a route to Asia this way either.
If at First You Don't Succeed…
Hudson tried to find a route to Asia by travelling over the North Pole in 1607. He tried again in 1608, and a third time in 1609.
