John Cabot: The English King's Italian Navigator

After

Portrait: Sebastian Cabot

John Cabot's discoveries made many other explorers curious about finding a way to Asia from the north. His son, Sebastian, also became an important explorer and map-maker. He took credit for some of his father's discoveries, which confused historians for many years. It was not until 450 years later that John Cabot was given credit for the 1497 and 1498 voyages.
