In order to register you in to the Metadata forum, we require certain personal information from you. This Statement explains the purposes and use of your personal information.

Only information needed for registration will be requested. Collection and use of personal information is in accordance with the federal Privacy Act. In some cases, information may be disclosed without your consent for purposes not outlined in this Statement pursuant to subsection 8(2) of the Privacy Act.

The collection and use of personal information is authorized by the Privacy Act and is required for your participation. If you choose not to submit your information through this Web site, you may use one of the other collection channels listed below.

Library and Archives Canada and the third party service provider will use your personal information for the following purpose(s): register you to the Metadata Forum and to collect payment. We do not use the information to create individual profiles, nor do we disclose this information to anyone outside the federal government. Any further disclosure of the personal information you give us will be in accordance with the federal Privacy Act.

The personal information collected to register to the Metadata Forum will be retained for 5 years and will be processed by the third party service provider.

This website occasionally uses "session cookies" to track how our visitors use this site. These cookies reside on the Web browser and have no expiry date. They expire as soon as the visitor closes the Web browser.
