Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards are presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The U.S.A.'s most prestigious award for the recording industry, the Grammy is awarded by the Academy's voting membership to honour excellence in the recording arts and sciences.

Oscar received his first Grammy Award in 1974 for Best Jazz Performance by a Group for the album The Trio.  It was followed by six more awards over the next twenty years:

In 1997, the Academy awarded Oscar Peterson the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition for his outstanding creative contributions to the field of music recording. 1
