Gilles Villeneuve

With an all-or-nothing attitude, Gilles Villeneuve (1950-1982) was a fan favourite as a Formula One race driver for the Ferrari racing team. A former snowmobile racing champion, he won six Grand Prix races and finished second in the drivers’ championship in 1979. Villeneuve’s career was cut short tragically in 1982 when he died from injuries suffered during an accident on a practice run.
