Despite major leg injuries sustained throughout most of his athletic career, Harry Jerome (1940-1982) was one of Canada’s greatest athletes during the 1960s. He set two world records for the sprint distances of 100 yards and 100 metres, and won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964.
